This Acer Nitro 27 inch MiniLED 4K 160 hertz refurb stands out for strong HDR, good colors, and a fast panel when it arrives intact. The MiniLED backlight can look excellent after some settings tweaks, and high refresh rates are available over DisplayPort. The main concern is quality control and shipping, with reports of cracked screens, damaged boxes, and units that needed exchanges or refunds. Some units also showed dim local dimming, haloing, stuck pixels, or firmware quirks, so it is best suited to buyers willing to gamble on refurb condition.

  • Gamers using DisplayPort who want 4K high refresh, because the panel supports high Hz only over DisplayPort and the colors and refresh rate are strong.

  • HDR desktop users who like tuning monitor settings, because the MiniLED backlight can look great after adjustment.

  • Dual-monitor desk setups that can tolerate cosmetic shipping damage, because the screen can arrive fine even when the base is scuffed.

  • People who need a reliably undamaged refurbished monitor, because units can arrive shattered, cracked, or broken and exchanges may not be offered.

  • Dark-mode users who want a bright screen, because local dimming can make the panel feel too dim and create haloing around the pointer.

  • Mac dock users who need stable 4K 144Hz output, because one monitor can drop to 60Hz after redocking and the firmware has no update path.

I've ordered two monitors from them and they both arrived broken. They are also slow with refunds.

Ordered as well and it was packaged really well and was not broken at all, unfortunately it has a purple spot close to the middle, I guess one of the LEDs is stuck (tried the jsfix method twice, no luck), and with so many users reporting damaged or defective units here and on Reddit, will not be buying another one, however, you can always try your luck since eBay returns a pretty simple

My panels are fine, but the firmware is kind of wonky, and I got 2 different hardware revisions that have different port layouts in back and different options in OSD. They do not give any way to update firmware unfortunately. They worked perfectly for 2 days at 4k144hz hdr on my docked m1 pro mac, then after I enabled quick start and redocked I have been limited to 60hz on one of the monitors. Probably an issue with DSC but not sure if its monitors or mac, I need to restore a time machine backup soon to see if that fixes it.

I literally just packed mine back up to return them. I bought two. One worked fine but I could tell the screen on the other was broken before I even turned it on.
Acer does not package these well. Mine came in a thin cardboard box with corner bubble wrap around the monitor, but basically no other padding or protection inside.
The boxes weren't even fully closed before they were shipped out. One of the boxes had about a half-inch gap, taped, at the top opening. The other had a massive tear running down one corner. I'm honestly surprised it didn't completely rip open and leave the monitor somewhere along the journey.
The one monitor that worked looked good and it does come with a two-year warranty, but Acer said it doesn't do exchanges and since I want matching monitors and don't want to deal with another lottery, I decided to return both. YMMV.
I feel like we had an almost identical experience with the packaging. Not even taped fully (edges only, middle completely open) and the packaging was atrocious. Had corner bubble wraps but the screen wasn't covered with film or a thin layer of foam. It just had a crumpled up portion of bubble wrap covering the middle of the screen and nothing else.

Surprised it made it here in one piece with just a minor surface scratch. It is a nice looking monitor and the HDR is great if you can get one to survive the trip. It did take them about 2 weeks to ship and I had cancelled my initial one due to the delay.

COS has cashback between 3-9.5% but it is heavily targeted which makes it even better.

This or the Samsung 27in G70F?
4k and FHD are pretty different product groups. What kind of system are you pairing it with? If it can run 4k at high refresh rates, I'd skip the FHD Samsung. Not saying I'd get this, either

I ordered during the last sale during November, and man it's a dumb monitor. It's glitching and everything with stuck dimming zones. Currently in chat with them to get a refund. The monitor doesn't even auto detect the inputs properly either and you'd have to turn it off, wait 1-3 minutes, then turn it back on again. Even then, it gets stuck in a black screen and I had to memorize the buttons to reset the entire thing through the onboard settings. When it worked, it was good but the refurbished one I received has too much annoyances. Luckily it was cheap compared buying new.... It also had HORRRIBLE glow, but suddenly fixed itself 1 weeks later with it off. I'm so confused with this monitor. I'd stay away. I only bought it because people were raving about it but I guess refurbish units are hit or miss, especially on eBay. Hopefully Acer helps me with this situation. Am waiting on a reply right now.
How did this resolve for you? I'm thinking about taking the risk...
