This is sort of a PSA. I searched for IKEA deals and didn't see if this was ever posted.
For those who don't know IKEA Family members [ikea.com] can collect reward points without making an IKEA purchase.

Just logging into your account once a week gives 25 points. 25x52=1300 points per year (equivalent to >$35).
While logged in, you can go ahead and save a product to a wish list for 25 additional points. 25x52=1300 points per year (equivalent to >$35).
The points may take a few days to show up in your account.

Just note that you can only redeem the points for $5, $10, $20, $50 vouchers. I believe they don't stack and you can only use one voucher per order.

How to collect points:
  • Collect 1 point for every $1 spent
  • Create an IKEA Family profile - 50 points
  • Log in to your IKEA Family account online or via the IKEA App - 25 points
  • Create and save a product to a "wish list" (with at least 1 product) on your Account via online or the IKEA App - 25 points
  • Create and save a kitchen or sofa drawing in the online planning tool via online or the IKEA App - 25 points
  • Register and attend a qualifying in-store or virtual consultation or planning appointment - 50 points
  • Register and attend a qualifying in-store or virtual IKEA Family event in-store or online - 50 points
  • Create your first Gift Registry - 50 points
  • Sharing a Gift Registry You Created via the U.S. Website - 10 points

Wow this is cool! Had no idea. Thanks!!
Added a registry and shared it, designed a kitchen, as well as made a wish list lol
So for the wish list. It says creat and add to, so it has to be a new one each week? Or does just adding to an existing one work?
Now I need a calendar reminder lol

You are correct. I have been collecting points without knowing. No points for saving to wish list though. Just for logging in.

Is there an optimal strategy to accumulate the most points? How often can you create and save kitchen/sofa drawings or attend virtual events?

I don't shop at IKEA a ton but I always buy a couple of their chocolate bars when I'm there. If I had $70 a year to spend I'd probably use most of it on chocolate heh

I do not see any points, even for my orders. I am a ikea family member and see my membership etc. Anything needs to be done to activate earning points

I do not stay logged in. i log in once a week & create a new wish list and save a couple. Items. then I delete an old one just to keep the saved items to a minimum. i have not designed a kitchen or attended an event yet. but those do give you quite a bit more points. the points do expire after 18mos

  1. Are you sure you provided your IKEA membership when you bought your items?
  2. If this is a recent purchase (or an online purchase that hasn't been delivered yet), it's possible you need to wait for those points to show up. Possibly up to 3 days.
  3. If this order was a "long" time ago, it's possible those orders don't qualify for reward points because this reward point system is fairly new. As stated in the IKEA website: "Please note, point collection has been effective from May 14, 2025."
  4. Otherwise, try contacting IKEA Customer Service about receiving your reward points.

Based on both of your comments and what the IKEA app says, I think you need to create a new wishlist and add at least 1 item to it in order to receive your 25 points for the week.

Yes you need to create a new list and it does take a few days before the points are credited. So if you time it right, you can do it about 2 days before the 1 week and earn the 25 points exactly one week from the last time. Additionally, you can also get 25 points for the kitchen design and weekly log in.
