The gaming mode on this and other Tizen OS 32" Sammy's, are surprisingly good.

The Remote Access feature to connect to a networked RDP server, is decent if you run, for example, LibreWolf on a low RAM, 8th Gen Intel NUC, and run XRDP on a MX Linux setup (I use MX 21.3 Minimal install, and CLI install LibreWolf running on XRDP, and Brave running on a direct-connect to the NUC). Virtually no lag, as opposed to Brave or other browsers, and most USB keyboard/mice combos will work on the Sammy.

It's a decent option if you're waiting out RAM price drops, and have an older pc to use as a server.

Can you explain some more? You use the brave browser running on the default os of this monitor to RDP / XRDP to your 8th gen nuc running mx Linux? Why not just hook it up directly since the nuc probably takes up almost no from physically. Just convenience from it being in your network closet and you don't want to build a PC yet?

The direct connect to the NUC uses the Brave browser, and the remote connection from the Samsung tv logs into the system, and already has LibreWolf up and running. When I exit out of the Remote session, it reverts to the desktop session with Brave.

Pragmatically, it takes getting used to. My usage has my Samsung tv upstairs, with my NUC downstairs, so I don't need a pc upstairs for casual browsing, etc. (it's a low RAM 8th Gen pc, after all). I have a Logitech K400 connected to the Samsung upstairs for the Remote connection.

MX Linux with XFCE, and the 21.3 Minimal version (it runs with lower RAM usage than current versions) is far easier to setup with XRDP than most other distros.

If you want a step-by-step installation process, if you have an older pc to use as a Remote, and a Tizen OS tv, I'll list the steps if you request.

For those of us that don't know all the computer geek talk, is this monitor, for the price, good enough for a desktop computer and just casually do small things plus internet surf???

$140 for a better monitor, lacking smart features (which actually seems preferable to this). Meh...

Yeah, but this one's gimmick is that it has smart tv apps. If you don't want smart tv apps you can get a better looking monitor for $120-140. "VA" "60hz" and "250 nits" is not preferable to most people. Most people want IPS, 100hz+ and 300 nits+.
You can also get better looking 27" monitor for under $100, and at 1080p, sitting a typical distance away at a desk, I would prefer 27".

Just received mine a couple days ago. It was obviously open box. Greasy fingerprints on the screen with damage to a corner of the monitor. Shipping it back today.
