Good price for this knife but personally not a fan of griv-ex as it has a cheap plastic feel (although durable. There are after market scale options but the added cost to modify it puts much better knives/steels in play.

Seems like a good deal on this knife. I like these giant tri-ad lock knives even if they're a little large for EDC, they're just plain cool.

AUS-10? No thanks. There are other knifes in Amazon for about the same price with better steels.

AUS-10 is the steel you gift your mom when she's just starting out in the hobby.

cracks me up when people chime in with the "there are better steels" comments...this is a lot of knife for thirty bucks and chances are 99 out of a hundred won't appreciate the difference between this and stupid expensive steel. This has a great locking mechanism and is virtually a giant fixed blade knife in your pocket. Get it and have fun showing your friends in the waffle house parking lot

if you use a knife more than once a month, you can absolutely tell the difference in knives and steels. Edge retention, blade feel, durability are all subjectively discernable.

Totally agree. AUS-10 is basically equivalent to 440C, which was the gold standard for affordable knife blades for a *long* time.
