Isn't ultimate going to $30 a month now? I agree it's ridiculous pricing but compared to $30 a month this is good, no?
It a better deal. Idk why anyone want a 1 year subscription in the first place?

Good deal to me. So many great games that are played once and done for me. A lot of complainers here, but it's still a great value in my eyes.
I agree. If you have kids it's still cheaper than buying every single game they want to play. It shouldn't be more then $20/mo though.

If you are frustrated with Game Pass prices like me, keep in mind that games sell for cheaper on Xbox than any other system, so there's the option of buying the newer releases rather then pay for GamePass.

I used to pay $50 for year of Ultimate, stacked those sweet deals for like 3 years. But it's just a joke what MS turned into this generation. Had Xbox Live since Halo 2 (diamond member with the special credit card too!) and have owned every Xbox since. My next console will be a PS6 once this gen is over with - MS flopped hard by overpricing and underdelivering the last 5 years.

This is the NEW Xbox! ENJOY!
this is the last xbox to make any money.
if they actually go through with another hardware generation, it will lose money every year it is in production. the xbox console is a dead man walking. microsoft will try to pivot in 2 years to "everything is an xbox, so just download the xbox app for your pc, and that's your new xbox..right?"

I get the protest votes, I really do, but the slick deals community is interesting, where $5 off the regular price can go frontage. This deal is over $41 off the standard price ($30 month x 3 months) or 45% off. Feels pretty slick to me. And as someone with kids, this is still a bargain when all they want is to try every single game for a few days.

Parents will continue to purchase Xbox for their kids and I'll continue to try to get best deals on these passes for my kid. Sales might never be the same but it will still sell

45 with no sales was the old price --- tbh without the old trick of converting gold to ultimate 3 years to 3 years was still the best and roughly 40 dollars a year was when it was best time to have it

now? idk --- with how many options of games and different f2p title genres the only things would be couch coop + single player experiences

or i guess non always online coop games would be what you would want in the streaming service / problem is most of those games end up less per month than the 30 dollars a month microsoft is asking for
the converting gold trick was the only reason I ever had any microsoft subscription service in the first place. I actually found an old xbox live gold gift card i had bought with my xbox 360 and never activated. I found it clearing some old boxes and assumed it was expired. my mind was blown when I realized i could convert to ultimate with it - I did the 3 years thing once before all these shenanigans. when my sub is up, I don't see how I will be able to justify the uplift.

when hardware sales decline to the point, it is no longer profitable for a company to sell a console, what happens to that console? have your "parents" continued to buy sega's next console? etc

xbox hardware sales are down 70% over the past 12 months. smd/smt prices are way up, and will continue to trend that way for years. consoles will not be cheaper, rather, more expensive. do you really expect the same "parents" to buy another xbox when it will be even more expensive in the years to come? considering they already rejected your premise in 2025 and instead most of them bought other consoles or pcs instead.

M$ increasing price to 29.99 per month and 89.99 for 3 months, that's 360 a year. The did add in ubisoft+ and fortnite. Keep in mind, once the 19.99 and 59.99 cards are gone, new prices are effective. So 48 is way better than 90. You can stack [redeem] 36 months, effectively locking in lower price. If you plan on being ultimate game pass user, the game cards do not expire and you can lock in lower price.

Inflation and wage increases have really twisted people's sense of what is acceptable. This is absolutely crazy.
