If the site is legit, id take a year at that price. Not the price id want but for now it would do.

You can argue it's still worth it if you play frequently.

Think about it. They already took our ability to own games. Every digital game you've ever purchased you don't own. You only own the temporary license to the game. So it's not like you own anything anyway, then what's the point of purchasing it? Gamepass makes sense if you think about it like that.

The cloud gaming can take a hike though. I will quit gaming before adopting cloud gaming. I will find another hobby.
I play games 2 to 3h every single day. I don't spend 200 dollars a year in games. Frequent enough and it was never worth it. Depends on what and when you play. Steam sales keep anything obsolete out of the gate. Nothing else compares

It was a weird split. The 360 GwG titles are yours forever, but the Xbox One games are only available as long as you keep a subscription.

Like someone else in the thread mentioned, it's an "own nothing and like it" environment.
And there's only one response to that environment... Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! Something I haven't done literally since 2011 when I bought Skyrim on release day... And now I'm here, thinking I got punished for being honest. Oh well.

If you only play on PC, you should ignore my comment

Yeah, this is turning into a really great environment. This game pass subscription will go perfectly with the house you'll never be able to afford to own...

A lot of positive reviews with the recent one from 10/24/2025. However they all seem to be related to the store's 14 month (13 + 1) offering. The 12 month deal has a cheaper monthly cost, maybe it's a new deal? I have to wait for my current Ultimate account to expire before I can try this deal. Clearly you have to comfortable buying your subscription from another country using the VPN they supply.

Cloud gaming has it's place. My kids tried several games before spending the time downloading it to find out they don't like it. It makes trying games super easy... it's also nice that the save downloads with it, so you don't have to start over. My SSD appreciates it.
It really depends on the number of games played. I don't use it as much as I should so it isn't worth it for me at this price, but combined with the fact my kids get to try a bunch of games on it and they seem to get tired of a game after a week it is nice they can just pick up and play something and move on without deciding if the cost is worth it.
My super cheap sub ends in 4 months and honestly probably not worth subscribing at $16 a month like here, but I get how it can be worth it for many at that price.

45 with no sales was the old price --- tbh without the old trick of converting gold to ultimate 3 years to 3 years was still the best and roughly 40 dollars a year was when it was best time to have it

now? idk --- with how many options of games and different f2p title genres the only things would be couch coop + single player experiences

or i guess non always online coop games would be what you would want in the streaming service / problem is most of those games end up less per month than the 30 dollars a month microsoft is asking for
To be honest that 1:1 conversion was insanely generous and I feel spoiled a lot of people on what kind of deal they can get.. I picked up that deal and got it for roughly $3.50 per month but would agree it is well worth over that.

My sub is ending in 4 months and if I had the problem of nothing else to play I would resub, but honestly my backlog has been growing the last 2.5 years and I need to tend to it. I want to power through what I can in the next 4 months and move on. My kids are gonna be bummed because even at 10 and 7 they seem to be struggling with this idea that all these games they like they will lose.

Largely depends what you play. If you bought 3 new games that were on gamepass you would be right at $200. The greater beauty is you get to try so many more without worrying about staying under 2 hours.

What adds value for me is my kids get to enjoy games on our Series S as well. No way is it worth $30 a month, but If I saw a deal like this I would get it form time to time... especially if a new first party game came out that I wanted to try, such as the new Fable game.

Fair enough. It is JUST entertainment after all, and that's generally the first thing to be cut if you're responsible and want to save a little.

Thank you for sharing this. I was scared of the cd key to loaded change after reading reviews and this was a better deal anyway from newegg which I have never had problems with.

I agree that $30 a month is crazy, but no one on Slickdeals should be spending that much. Deals are readily available at all times.

No matter how good the deal, I always see people posting that Game Pass is "overpriced" even at the sale price. If you are one of those people, what is the monthly cost that you think is reasonable for a service like this? Not from a fanboy perspective, but an actual value proposition? I mean, Netflix is $18 per month now for standard or $25 for the highest tier for comparison. This deal puts it at $16.33 per month, yet there are people who still think it's an absurd price?
