7 quarts! Nice. I have the 6 quart proline. I bought it refurbished over 10 years ago. Once it fell to the floor and not a scratch to be found. 280 is solid price for something you will pass to your kids.

500 watts for 7 qts, a bit wimpy. My 7 qt Cuisinart is 1000 watts. My Cuisinart isn't really as pretty though.

It is probably the same motor. The only change maybe wider paddle and bowl. I have the KitchenAid Commercial 5qrt 425w and Pro 6qrt 590w. The last time I took apart changed grease and found out they have exactly the same motor part number and gears are identical.

Certainly possible, I'm just going off of Kitchenaid's published specs. I will admit, I don't make enough bread to really test the power of any mixer.
Now blenders on the other hand...
