love the movie but not sure it's worth an upgrade from Blu-ray.

I was thinking the same thing. Between a PS5 and my TV, it up converts quite well.

The post does have me wanting me to watch the movie again though!

For those who have Paramount streaming and want to try before you buy, this movie is available there.

I have the old Lionsgate Blu-ray as well as this 4K disc and have watched it in 4K on Paramount+ and if you are picky about image quality AND have a good enough home theater setup, it's worth the upgrade. I have a Sony A95L (QD-OLED) and Panasonic UB820 player and it looks terrific. Due to the stylized art direction and cinematography - this review really digs into how it was done: https://thedigitalbits.com/review...t-2024-uhd - and general black on black on darkness aesthetics, it's not something you use to show off a system, but if you want the best you can get, this is the way.

If you love the movie, $12 is a good bite price. If you have a so-so setup (i.e. using a game console; cheap TV) or are so-so on the movie, the Blu-ray is adequate.

I have 7.2 surround sound and an LG OLED so yeah, I would appreciate the audio aspect.
But the movie is always dark and rainy, not sure how HDR could make a world of difference.
But I appreciate your observations, especially regarding the audio.
