Defeat the safety mechanism for quicker pours and even use of a siphon. Just pry/pull the white cone thingy out. Game changer.

Good deal. I compared the two versions, and have concluded that the difference is $23.00.

Thanks, grabbed a few. Even with shipping I can't match that anywhere.

That's where the real expense is, too, and the point where things break down. I'm afraid to look up the history of the gas nozzle changes--I'm sure it's super depressing. Add it to the ridiculous (and always increasing) laws for child car seats. "If we save a single child, it's worth it!" Never mind the insane costs born by everyone else (and the profits made by the companies who secretly lobby for those laws to their own benefit).

Most of you who are having problems with the nozzle either (a) don't know how to use it properly or (b) are trying to use it to fill tanks it was not intended. These are meant for stationary or stabilized equipment. I have a couple of these and keep one for my small equipment because it never leaks. It will not work with one person on hand held equipment (like a line trimmer) because the gas tanks are not secured, but works just fine of the equipment is held steady in a vise or on the ground by a second person. It will not work (well) with passenger autos because they not meant to be filled from a portable nozzle that doesn't comply with SAE J285. Y'all may as well be complaining that UK power outlets are impossible to use because your US or EU* plugs won't fit.

I'll also say that, while metal cans may survive longer, I've had a half dozen of the Midwest cans for over a dozen years with zero deterioration or problem, and I have two older polymer cans that date to the 1970s (+/- 5 years) I got from my grandfather which are still in great shape.

If you're going to use these to fill large tanks or cars/trucks, do yourself a favor and get a shake siphon. It's many times easier than even the traditional fill spouts on cans, and doesn't require an air return/relief valve.

(*fun fact: EU plugs *will* fit into UK outlets, but UK outlets have a safety cover which is released by inserting a ground pin. Release the shield by inserting a dummy ground pin manually and you can leave your UK adapter at home)

Owned this can for years. It's not like the other "safety cans" and is very very easy to dispense.

Absolutely the worst gas can ever made. I picked one up on clearance at Walmart years ago for $2.50. I should have returned it.

I love my eagle can, but it sure is a pain in the a$$ to take the yellow spout off when its time to refill.

I have the diesel version of this can and it works great, easy to dispense and more importantly hold with the rear handle.
