I have advised before in these threads, that best practice is to:

Change your expired account's phone number to something else before creating a new account.

Reason: If/when you need to access your new account via their kiosk, online, or via any cashier entering your phone number (how they look you up) you may have or create problems.

If you tell a cashier your number and they say: Wow you have 15 accounts, which one? And you will need them to find the currently active one (for example).

Then you need to figure out which one to tell them to use and they may report you for scamming thier system.

Regardless, it is good housekeeping to have only one account linked to your main phone number at a time.

Next thing that is the best to do is use either a virtual card that expires or has a low limit, or a MC/VS gift card with a low balance. This way, in addition to setting yourself a calendar reminder to quit (do not cancel until you are in the last free month), you have a failsafe to avoid getting renewed at full price.

For most email addresses I believe (I used it with a Gmail account), if you add a +1 at the end (like if your email is [email protected], just enter [email protected]), the email will still go to your same regular inbox but Panera will recognize it as a completely new email account.

Tips:
1) Set a calendar reminder that once you have started your final free month's cycle, you can cancel weeks before it lapses, and it will continue to be active through the current monthly cycle you are in.

2) Use a virtual card with a small limit and/or an early exp date so they cannot charge you, even if you forget to cancel.

3)OR use a small balance MC/VS gift card. I keep a couple of those around for this purpose.

You can get them for no fee when Staples etc offers that deal. I believe they currently have Fee Free MCs?

Plus I earn 5% CB or points when buying them, from the Office Supply category spend with my Chase Ink CC, or my Amex Simply Cash Business card.

I've re-subscribed several times in the past using the + gmail trick. Today, can't get it to work. Get the error message, oops something went wrong when I go to save my credit card number. Tried different browsers and different + gmails. Also tried a different credit card.
Only thing I haven't tried is another phone number. Okay to just change a digit in my number??

Anyone else getting the error message?

Edit:
Still no luck, but to answer my own question above, you must use a valid phone number as it texts you a code to log in again. Would need this to cancel the subscription later.

With this deal, you can walk in and ask for coffee/tea/soda without buying any food and it's free for 3 months?

Yes. Able to sign up (using + trick), but get an error when entering my credit card - oops something went wrong.

you have to order via their app. cant just walk in and ask.

if you use their app, yes, all drinks are free, unlimited refills. no need to buy anything else.

you can get like 5 cups at the end of the day to fill up your tub. just place an order every 2 hrs. start in the morning. 1 order every 2 hrs. choose pickup time at 5pm. then you can have all 5 cups waiting for you when you get out of work. make sure to change the drink size all to LARGE.

Perhaps it's only my store, but I've never used the app to order. Always walk in, order, give my phone number to verify the sips account and get a beverage for free.

their legacy tech will cause you trouble with the same phone # for different email accounts. They will ask for OTP when sign in but they won't send you the OTP. Nobody could help me so I lost 2 months because of this. gluck.

Seems like their service is struggling at the moment. Had some issues getting texts and emails to come through. Anyway, I was able to resub the whole family for the 5th time lol.

My process is to remove the phone number from the old account by editing it to a fake number, something like 111-111-1111. Then I create a new account with a new email ([email protected] trick) and same phone number. I use a Privacy credit card for all the accounts so I can set a limit and pause it to prevent the subscription from renewing, but I don't think that's required.

Can anyone remind me what happens if I cancel the 3 month trial today which I signed up for today? Do I get to keep it for the 3 months or does it end sooner?
