This is BY FAR the most I have spent for a single UHD movie, next closest was $30 for
True Romance (4K UHD, 1993) Arrow Video Limited Edition w/Booklet because it is the only version with the extended edition on UHD.
That said, I have been watching prices on this movie since it released on UHD and it has been crazy hard to get it cheaper, and I have seen no news of a "normal" release that is a more standard price. Just like True Romance this movie is on my top 10 of all time, this is Kurt Russell at his best! Too bad it doesn't have the extended edition available, the last time I saw Tombstone extended was on DVD

This may be better than the BR version(often is) but nowhere near $37 better imo.
Not to mention there is no audio upgrade!
Didn't pay this much for movies I like even more and they had better(full) transfers!

Physical media has shifted. Streaming dominance means retailers stock more DVDs than Blu-rays (since budget-conscious viewers have DVD players but not Blu-ray). Studios now target collectors willing to pay premium prices for steelbooks, limiting supply to force immediate purchases at MSRP. Then companies jacked up prices and called it inflation while secondary market flippers buy up supply to further inflate prices.
This is the new normal. Disney releases 4K only as steelbooks at higher prices, and other studios are following. Pre-orders typically offer the best pricing. While Tombstone is getting a second pressing, many titles don't and you can't know which will. So your options are grumble about the price and get the movie you want, skip on the movie entirely, hope there's a second pressing with oversupply to drive down prices, or buy from a flipper.
Non-steelbook versions, if they even come out, aren't bargain prices anymore. You might luck out on a Target B2G1 sale, but popular movies sell out fast because everyone buys 3 of the same movie just to return 2 of them.
