side rant: best buy site sucks. you cant find the relevant info. every spec is crammed into asinine templates that make little sense. they need to hire better designers

These are okay sounding speakers. I think many will be happy enough but the midrange is pretty rough sounding compared with more neutral speakers I have and at times they are extra thin sounding due to lack of low end coupled with elevated upper high frequencies. (Use some subs) They remind me a little bit of the old school 'scream boxes' that small monitor sized speakers usually were in the 80s & 90s. Not JBLs best overall execution here, even for low budget. That said they aren't bad just not great. Right now I can't many other better options are available for this price so I'm not saying don't buy, just don't think you're getting the kind of deal the 530s were a couple years ago nor the last Stage model which was better vs these. If you have $350 the q1meta is likely better & the Polk XT20 is much fuller sounding $250. Look for a used JBL 530 deal or a used Emotiva B1+, both of those sound as good as most any of the $1k-$1.5k small monitors. JBLs own 306p actives (no external amp required) will be a good option for some 2 channel users as well. Those sound very good.

100% this. It takes forever for the site to load search results. Same with the app.
