Much better to get a nice decorative lamp and fit it with one of their smart bulbs in my opinion.

I don't like govee anymore because they are becoming more premium price, however i could not find a cheaper one so i bought it on Christmas for about the same price.

Its pretty. Kids like it. It has a bunch of built in animations which are pretty to look at and is nice decoration.

Buttons on top are nice. Responsive and seem to work reliably. Wifi doesn't want to connect anymore but Bluetooth works great for the app which is what I mostly care about.
Home assistant can only control it through WiFi, not bt but I think I can fix it if I cared enough.

I used the app to setup morning sun alarm where it shines red to wake me up. Works well.

I also have a smart bulb doing similar thing. The bulb ended up being about the same price and a big brighter. Bulb I got was 1200 lumens, and this looks like 1000 (in between regular 800 and 1200). But bulb doesn't have animation and is only a single color... trade offs

It's definitely not bright enough to use to actually light up a room. It's good tho for decoration or to read a book, or night light/wake up alarm.

This is more like a 360° screen than just a light. It can do all sorts of different colors at the same time, and can display animations. There are some videos in the Amazon reviews you can check out that show it off.

No coupon here. I got one in July for $55 and I use it in my office as a nightlight with the candle flame 🔥 so the room isn't pitch black at night. Works pretty well but some of the preloaded govee "scenes" are weird.

Different strokes for different folks. I think this lamp is tacky, Govee has much better products to drop 50 bucks on. If you are looking for light shows with arrays of colors then their corner floor lamps achieve that and look much better.

I bought this at regular price and just got it delivered yesterday lol....tried to get amazon to price match but they said just return it and buy it at the cheaper price which seems pretty dumb on their part. But, I did because after taxes its almost a $20 difference. Great little lamp.

I got one for my wife to replace a salt lamp that died on her. She loves it. I think it's pretty cool, too. The animations are really neat and the thing has a lot of presets and flexibility to design your own light. It's a nice little accent piece. I don't have a coupon, either, for the record. That seems to be quite YMMV.

Amazon used to price match back in the day but they don't anymore, they make you return. No clue why.

I don't disagree, but to be fair, the one you linked has a built-in JBL speaker (probably a pricier brand to license), where this one is just a lamp.
