Isn't that the same as asking why you need a front view? Just look straight through your windshield.
The purpose of a dash cam is evidence, not as a realtime monitor or sensor.

So if you, your kid, your employee, etc were distracted behind the wheel, you'll have evidence of it.

Last month I bought this 4 channels dashcam below for around $18 after all the discount. It is working well for me. The only con is I wish the rear camera is brighter like the front at night time. My 2 inside caneras can be turned 360 degrees horizontally, together the 4 channels can monitor 360 degrees of my SUV.

Recording the inside of your car is great if your an Uber driver, but just be cautious while this provides good evidence, it can also be used against you if involved in a car accident.
