The version for this deal seems to use a replaceable CR2032 based on the Amazon description

If someone is sleeping next to you or you don't want to wake a baby, probably be better not shouting across the room "HEYYY ALEXA!!! TURN OFF THE LIGHT!" Alexa: What?.. "TURN OFFF THE LIGHT!!"

Got excited. Thought they found a no-wire way to place a smart dimmer on top of an existing dimmer to control it like they have for the manual-->automated blind/curtain openers.
You should get a Lutron Aurora

Are you talking about the Lutron Aurora? Only product that I know that does that. For all other products, you have to get a light switch cover (or just removing the switch entirely)
thank you for the tip. looking into it now.

I bought this a few years ago really wanted to like this, but found that it wasn't intuitive for my needs nor was there a good Home Assistant blueprint or way to automate this to make it do what I wanted. You'd think it'd allow you to have the 1-4 buttons be a light (or group or scene) selector THEN have the dial control the brightness after activating it with a press. But nooooo, Hue just makes the dial a separate button on its own independent of the others that can't interact with them. Really dumb use case imo. Hue really does things very brilliantly and stupidly at the same time in their ecosystem...

I have four Lutron Auroras. They work great. Pricey, but very convenient. At least we in Hue ecosystem are used to pricey, I guess...

Hm that's weird, I'm able to utilize this dial to dim zones. However the dial only interfaces with the last selected button group vs. buttons as a selector. If you're trying to on the fly dim multiple zones, I'd try pre programming various dimming levels such as 100, 75, 50, 25% and have that button cycle through those with every continuous press. Program long press to turn off. But yeah I do agree, it's smart and dumb at the same time.

I have/had 3 of the older version. Only issue is the no batteries so they will die after a few years/ 1000 button pushes
Wow...given the price, here I was thinking that my no-battery version was converting the kinetic energy of the presses (which are quite forceful) into mini battery recharges like a hybrid vehicle. It's been a few years for mine now, but guess it'll eventually die.

And these are indeed excellent wall switches to have a few modes programmed for easy access.

Just to clarify, the old old version didn't have batteries at all, but used the kinetic power of the pressing of the buttons to power a signal. A really cool idea, but did make it somewhat painful to pair and if the button died, it just wouldn't work and you were left wondering (at first) if the signal wasn't being generated or the button died.
And I'm not talking about the Lutron/Phillips Aurora, but an old old Phillips Hue Tap Switch (no dial)

Is this a 3 way switch hue? Could I have the lights turned on if the other controlled 3 way switch closes the light?

Anyone knows anything similar for generic google home's / tuyas?
All the ones on Amazon are hardwired, and I don't want to touch the electric.

This one is portable and behaves like a switch from anywhere.

Hard agree. The fact that you STILL can't globally replace a dead bulb with a new one is absurd. Having to re-do all my related scenes to add the new bulb and settings is so aggravating any time a bulb goes out.
