This thing goes through batteries like crazy, and you really have to have a clear line to the xbox for it to work. We have a baby gate in front of our entertainment system, where the Xbox sits that gives it trouble. Still if you need a remote it gets the job done.

See if you can bounce that IR beam off of a serendipitously placed reflective surface (picture frame, mirror) between you and the TV to avoid needing to have a clear line of sight.

That is one option, although it might be less frustrating to go with something like this:

People have reported success using an IR repeater like that with the Xbox series X.

rechargeables ftw - also the "x" sticker for the guide button will be gone within a few months

seeing this remote makes me wish the Logitech XBox360 remote worked with the series X and XBox One consoles.

I use a Sofabaton universal remote to control all my living room electronics including my xbox. Ran me about 40 bucks. No dashboard button of course, but there's ways around that.

That doesn't seem to be official. Brand is Tydas.
