Hmmm, this looks kinda nice... *Does anybody know about this type of stuff? *ie) adjustable desk / build quality, junk?, motor/chain ? --- Any HELP would be appreciated. | Would be replacing solid wood desk of 20+ years for disabled son 6'3 - 230lbs *has severe nerve damage. The ability to get in and out, stand etc would be a great help, been keeping my options open for one awhile now. - Thanks again.

All of them have their quirks. This looks about as good as you can do with what's included. The top is not going to handle if your son falls on it. That press board will fold like an envelope.

If you'd like a higher quality surface, buy a standing desk frame for around $100, then get a finished butcher block countertop at a hardware store, like Lowe's or Home Depot. Or get an unfinished butcher block countertop and finish it yourself, if you prefer.

Damn. I bought this thing for $320 a little over 2 years ago. My son uses the lift maybe a few times a month. I am happy with it. I think prices for desks were just a lot higher back then. It's not flimsy or anything, but I also would stand on it.

I have this desk. At first I was worried about how thin the surfaces are, but it's been solid. I have a 27" and a 32" monitor on gas mount arms attached to the upper shelves with no issues. I got the carbon fiber finish and it is holding up well.
