This ZenBook 14 stands out as a lightweight premium travel laptop with strong specs, a good keyboard, and solid build quality. The 2.82 pound chassis and 32GB of LPDDR5X memory make it feel fast and portable, and the 1TB SSD can be upgraded. The main drawbacks are the 60Hz OLED panel, which feels like a step down from higher refresh options, and the screen can dim and brighten in a finicky way, especially with Windows night mode. Port placement and Linux compatibility are also worth checking, making it a compact pick if portability matters more than display polish.

  • The laptop weighs about 2.82 pounds, making it easier to carry for travel and daily commuting.

    klownboyRighterOn

  • The SSD can be upgraded from 512GB to 2TB, which supports expanding local storage capacity.

    klownboy

  • The 32GB LPDDR5X configuration can be sufficient for the likely target users without needing more RAM.

    stevwang

  • The build quality and keyboard are described as strong for this ZenBook 14 class.

    FreePickles

  • The RAM is not user-replaceable because LPDDR5X is typically soldered on the motherboard.

    klownboyplieplShawnT7466

  • The 60Hz display refresh rate may be a dealbreaker for buyers who want smoother motion.

    lubanjaTealMaid545

  • The OLED screen can be finicky because autofocus may cause slight dimming and brightening, especially with Windows night mode.

    plai7778

  • The premium price may feel unjustified compared with a similar ZenBook 14 configuration found under $600.

I bought this Zenbok from Bestbuy a few months ago for the same sale price $899.99 and I like it. It's a great travel laptop at 2.82 lbs and it's pretty darn quick. I came from an older Asus Zenbook 3 Deluxe (2017) which still works fine. If it's like my older Asus and I'm quite sure it is, the ram is not replaceable but I did swap out the SSD drive from 512 GB to 2 TB.

Someone mentioned it wasn't. Also, LPDDR5X is always going to be soldered RAM. If you ever see that, just assume it's not user replaceable RAM.

GREAT price for the spec!

not sure why the intended users of this computer would need more than 32gb of LPDDR5X ram...

You'll have to check out their other product lines then. ZenBooks don't cater to the people who crave the higher refresh rates.

Same, or >FHD. I picked up the 255H/16GB RAM version of this for under $600 and while this is a good deal, the premium doesn't seem worth it.

Great build quality and nice keyboard on these.

Seems fantastic (assuming Linux compatibility) except for the awful port arrangement. Screen could be a bit better, but it's definitely still good.

Bought and returned due to the OLED screen being finicky. It autofocuses slightly dims and brightens not drastically but present. It is especially bad when you put windows in night mode. Premium specs for price tho

Last year they had this same series of laptops (with the 155H processor) they had at least 1 sku with a 2880x1800 120Hz display.
Here's this year's version - https://www.bestbuy.com/product/a...JJGGLQV6QY but obviously not as good of a deal. I'm sure it will go on sale at some point.
