For what it's worth this is an all time low for the product per camelx3.

Seems like a good value but not sure about performance.

Costco gives for 212$.. But need to wait for markdown price. Is it better than this deal?

Sandisk is atrocious at customer service and likely quality control.

Not worth the deal to deal with them

Heads up, there were some past models of this drive that had extemely high failure rates, unsure if they fixed the real issue, but I think SanDisk was blaming firmware. While they stopped short of recalling products, they did have acknowledge that there was a higher than normal failure rate. Last I heard there is a class action going on... not sure what the status of it is. I own 2 500GB models which were supposedly not affected, but both failed within the warranty period. I was quickly able to contact support easily, and they provided me with the RMA and shipping labels.
I sent them in and waited nearly 3 months before replacement drives were shipped to me, support said they didn't have inventory which is funny because they are in stock everywhere.
Needless to say since I experienced a 100% failure rate with my Sandisk/WD external SSDs so the replacements are sitting in their packaging and I am just using my custom SSDs in the Sabrent enclosures, and my Samsung T5s that are much older and have much more data without any issues. I'm usually a big fan of Sandisk/WD as I use Sandisk flash in all my DSLRs and vehicle dash cams, plus countless WD Reds in my multiple NASes, and WD Blacks in my desktops, along with quite a few SN850 and SN770s internal SSDs deployed in multiple systems, but I definitely DO NOT trust their external SSDs currently.

I have owned both a sandisk and a samsung portable SSD. For some reason the sandisk drive often requires time to "wake up", like a few secs, where the file explorer will hang. Never happen to samsung drive. I will never buy another sandisk drive myself.

I'm starting to regret the sandisk extreme I bought at Costco. Haven't really used it a lot and had it stored in a drawer then decided to pull it out for Time Machine backups on a Mac. Drive is dead after about 2 months. Think I've had it past the 5 year warranty so highly doubt that I can get a replacement. For the short period of time of real use, seems like an unreliable product.

Happened to two my 1.5 tb microsd cards and a 2tb SSD all within months. Took me a ages to get replacements for each. Weeks of emailing to get them to actually process the replacement
