"That said, the Beryl AX is powered by a Mediatek chipset which is likely to get OpenWrt master support relatively quickly, while the Slate AX is powered by a QCA chipset that is unlikely to get the same support soon, if ever. What this means in practical terms is that the Beryl AX will be released on a much more up-to-date software stack under the hood, while the Slate AX continues to be on a very old 4.4 QSDK kernel. This isn't impacting the user experience *much* right now, but in the long run it may be difficult for Gl.iNet to support the Slate AX, even if they want to.

Prior to setting that up, the NVR logs showed some intrusion. IOT is not secure at all.
