Ok everyone. FYI. These aren't deals. This is what the MSRP should be.
$5 blu rays on Black Friday is a deal. That is your standard. Anything more than $10 for this sort of stuff is overpriced for a deal. $15 is pushing it even for a great movie with whatever bells and whistles and steel boxes it comes in
Hope this helps.
Lost in space suggested retail price is 31.99 4k disc we're never as cheap as other disc formats it's a premium one I buy them because I want the latest and greatest but if your expecting the cheap prices from back or what you think they should be it isn't going to happen it's not let's make a deal. i have been buying films since vhf days and I check for deals on all the sites everyday. And this is the reason why prices are higher Production Costs: Manufacturing 4K discs is significantly more expensive than DVDs or standard Blu-rays. This includes the physical cost of the higher-capacity discs (BD-66 or BD-100) and the intensive technical work required for 4K scanning, HDR color grading, and high-bitrate encoding.
Niche Market Status: Physical media is now a niche market, with 4K UHD discs representing only a small fraction (often under 10%) of total physical sales, which are still dominated by DVDs.
Studio Pivot to Streaming: Major studios, such as Disney, have prioritized their streaming platforms (e.g., Disney+) over physical releases to maintain direct control over content and recurring subscription revenue.

To clarify, this was the movie from 1998, not the series from 1965 nor the series from 2018.
Wow I assumed this was the original series or the new one at this price point. This is purely for collectors then, of a movie that wasn't well liked lol.

Why are you commenting about a 4k blu ray when youre stuck in 2014?

In a perfect world that would be lovely, but some studios reign in their pricing and have a very firm hold over manufactured promos and discounts. This is a prime example of that.

I spent sooo much money on laserdics way back, 34.99-39.99 was average price, some at 49.99, when they went on sale they were around 24.99-29.99. Not to mention the collector editon stuff that was 99.99, and the star wars trilogy box set at 249.99. These things are for the new generation, I won't spend money like that again, I'm happy with putting movies on hard drives and streaming my own stuff. But I do like reading the comments on these sale items, if it was cheap enough like the other person said about them being 5.00, I might be tempted to try one out.

I remember going to this random store with my dad and we were just picking out big old discs with movies on it. They were expensive! Especially with how the dollar was before. Spending $40 on one giant disc was wild.

But laserdisk cover art was bigger than life. Those were the days...

Not only are you some sort of commie, but you also speak as someone who's only every watched movies streamed. I don't judge, but physical media especially good 4k transfers look infinitely better than what you can find online. Even on share sites.
