Purchased 3 Dyson V8 Animals on clearance from Lowe's years ago and every single one of them had a bad battery within a year. I haven't bought a Dyson since. My old Dyson corded is still going strong though.

I have a V8 and the battery lasted about 5yrs before the max started not working for more than 30 seconds. I bought a new battery from Dyson and it works like brand new again.

I bought a new battery and it was like new. But I want to buy another as backup now if it ever goes kaput.
