I received one last week and tried to register this product for warranty. But the S/N cannot be found neither on WD nor Sandisk website. I contacted the CS of Sandisk and was told he cannot find this S/N either. So I returned it. FYI

we might be losing the track of what this site's purpose is. "need it now" is not the same as "slick deal". This item is not worth $140 by a long shot, representing it as slick deal is plain gaslighting.

Good deal. Yes M.2 variant is significantly faster than this and arguably more worthwhile these days but there is a specific use case for this like NAS, legacy laptop, PlayStation, and such. Ideal for secondary drive.

Edit: oh this one doesn't have DRAM, if u do care about that.

Edit 2: take the 1-star review a complete grain of salt. Tooo many incomplete context, and irrelevance.

Shows $139 for me. Is this a good deal? My PC needs an SSD upgrade, and don't think an m.2 slots fit anymore. Is this price and speed good? Not knowledgeable on SSD

It's a good deal right now cause storage has been going up and price and still is going up in price not as bad as RAM but no telling what the price is tomorrow.

Not only that but 2.5" SATA SSD is SLOWLY being obsolete. It a matter of when not if.

Plus the PNY comes with the Sata to USB transfer cable, (i.e. a caseless external drive)

First, does it say "Sold and shipped by Walmart.com"?
If it does, try private/incognito browser or even logging in.

Duh! This used to be in the sub-$100 range just months ago! ... I guess with the recent memory prices insanity this qualifies as a deal.

SATA is slow though (think of 500Mb/sec-ish) and this is a WD-Blue so it should be okay for the average desktop user (but not for NAS, or video, or performance/server-grade stuff).

I've read that 2TB and up have DRAM. I don't know what source to believe

Yeah that's a no for me dawg, I know I got my 2TB WD SN850X for $99 at a good time.. but paying more than that for 1/10th the performance is insane.
