If you buy NIIMBOT, you could save on labels by ordering from AliExpress rather than Amazon. Yet, it's gotta be a NIIMBOT branded label, cuz this won't take other (unbranded) labels. The product itself is good quality, the app is more refined so I don't mind paying extra for the labels which I don't imagine I'd need more than a roll each 6 months.

If you go with a different brand of label printer like Inkwon, it takes any label, which are generally cheaper in Amazon and in AliExpress. If you're expecting a heavy volume of prints, then going this route could save you money in the long run. I've tried this too and noticed that the adhesive on the stickers is a hit or miss.

Code worked for me, bought one to give as a gift. I have this label maker, you need to use their branded labels, but otherwise it works great. Thanks!

I went down the rabbit hole of these cheap ones and figured the drm hell wasn't worth it.

Ended up picking up a brother one with keyboard for $30 at office depot since those don't have the DRM bs.

There's a hack on youtube showing how to trick the device into using regular labels

How does this compare to the Nelko ones?

I too have this. You can use any after market label tape with Brother.

Code worked for me on the second try. It's on the checkout page. I forgot to hit the little arrow the first time to enter it.

Can I print from my laptop, or does it have to be from a phone?

Are there any label makers like this, but with continuous arbitrary length tape (instead of predefined, fixed-length portions) like the old school label makers where you print however long you want and cut the tape?

Thanks

here to unrecommend a comptitor - nelko. they use similar rfid proprietary labels, and they revised the glue formula. all my labels fall off now.

how is the glue on nimbot tape? will it fall of in heat of a garage?
