How do these compare to Owala? While in theory it does support both sip and chug, I'm concerned that opening up the full lid, while conducive for filling, may not be perfect for chugging.

Our kids got these and they constantly spilled or leaked. We ended up buying Owalas for them even though they cost twice as much.

We got these for our kiddos... 2 out of the 4, the lids broke after a fall from counter height. They do send replacements, after like 2 weeks. Just know that the kids are fragile. Reviews on their site seem to concur.

Tempted by the marketing, although I find overly complicated designs often have bigger downside than benefits. I'm not convinced the lid's design will be very durable

Had the same issue. The clear lid broke after a month or two. After that, it will leak through the straw/spout. The O-ring on the quick fill lid will shift, causing leaks when used as well.
