I would never give these people my money again. At least Samsung stand behind their products when the battery gate problem started appearing.

I've had an amazfit watch for several years and was frustrated with some data translation issues. I found the grass wasn't really greener on the other side and the ringconn offering was worse. After spending the afternoon testing / calibrating both my amazfit watch and the ringconn I've come to realize the amazfit ecosystem is better. For example amazfit devices will export directly to strava so high rez heart rate data makes the transfer. The data that is exported from amazfit's zepp app to health connect also retains good hi-res heart rate data as well.
And finally I was able to calibrate steps on my treadmill workout to credit proper distance from my amazfit watch. The data transferred from the ringconn app to health connect is inexplicably cutting the number of steps in half so even though it also has the correct distance per step, the miles credited from ringconn are half what they should be.
Just my experience. TLDR: amazfit isn't perfect but they've been around longer and sync data better and to more partners. I am taking a tiny leap of faith that since the amazfit ring uses the same zepp app as my existing watch the data transfer options will all work the same.
The one thing that concerns me though is they battery life on the amazfit ring is much shorter than other rings. But hopefully I can just make it part of a weekday morning routine to top it off while I shower perhaps.
On the other hand, if you intend to stay within the ringconn app and not export data it might be just fine and the battery life looks remarkable.
PS: The size 8 and 10 are also on sale for $110 direct from the amazfit site.
