Anker's Nano 45W charger stands out for its smart display, which can identify newer iPhones, show battery status, wattage, and temperature, and adjust charging behavior for supported Apple devices. The compact GaN design is smaller than some competing 45W and 70W chargers, and the teardown details confirm USB PD and PPS support. The main knocks are the single port, higher price for the screen, and reports that the display is hard to see when plugged in behind furniture. It also draws idle power and the battery percentage readout is limited to iPhone 15 and newer, making it a niche pick for display-focused charging.

This isn't a PD capable charger. It doesn't say PD anywhere. To be honest, I'm not that impressed with it and that's saying something because I like almost everything Anker sells. But if you look carefully at the pictures, this is nothing more than a run-of-the-mill 45W charger with a cute screen; it's not PD capable so it's not for laptops (and they don't show pictures of laptops anywhere); the "recognition" aspect is only for a limited number of phones and ipads specifically; and it only charges the iPhones at 45W at the very beginning of a dead battery (0-20%). From 20% to 80% it's charging at 30W. So this doesn't look that remarkable actually.
It absolutely supports USB PD, please stop spreading misinformation. Per this teardown review of a reputable charger review website "It has four fixed PDOs of 5V3A, 9V3A, 15V3A, and 20V2.25A. It also has two sets of PPS, which are 5-11V3A and 5-16V3A."

Yes! I've been waiting for this charger to become available in the US since it was released in the Chinese market last year. Its main interesting feature is that it utilizes a feature of USB PD to query the phone for battery status and then displays that info. I'm not aware of any other chargers that do this. It also displays the phone model, which I assume it also gets through specific USB PD queries. The marketing around charging at the optimal rate depending on the battery status smells like nonsense to me. I'm very interested to sniff those PD packets to see what it's actually doing.

I will wait for it to be $15-$20 in 6 months, like all the cool Anker Prime stuff.

Yeah, if I didn't still have the iPhone 14 Pro Max I'd be much more interested in this possible new feature. I have the Anker Prime 250w, 27650mAh power bank and the 250w Prime Desktop charging station and enjoy the screens and the Bluetooth app but I believe these two pieces of tech can be upgraded by firmware and seems like Anker could give them the capability of displaying the phone's battery status thru these queries.

Maybe Im an isolated case, but if only they would allocate 10% of their resources to customer service they would be in a better spot, not a single reply or acknowledgement to DMs, emails and voicemails, spent over 10k in products, and from simple questions to trouble shooting or dead devices never heard back form them (that includes my large portable solar kits) since i have moved to UGREEN and Baseus who have indeed replied and and offer better support.

Rosewill (Newegg's brand) sells on of these for $30 but it's 70w total power. Just got one from Best Buy when they sent me a $10 coupon and it seems well made so far. It looks like this one is noticeably smaller as the Rosewill has a built in retractable USB-C cable + USB A and C ports.
I ordered Rosewill one and price was $24.99. Anker has lack of features. One port, 45W and $30 is crazy.

This seems pricy for for unnecessary things you don't need where their other 45 watt chargers dont have and are at half the price

Just sharing my experience. I've got a few of their products and haven't had any issues. I did some digging before buying (YouTube reviews are definitely mixed), but so far they've been reliable. I've reached out to support twice for technical questions and specs, and got replies within 24 hours. If you had a bad unit or a rough experience, that honestly sucks — I've been there, even with the biggest 'name' brands. The part that's most disappointing isn't the problem itself; it's when a company doesn't respond or even acknowledge it.

This is noticeably heavier and a bit larger than the current 45w, due to the display. Also worth noting that if you leave them plugged in, the LCD units from Anker have high idle power draw.
