Usable but if you are keeping your PC a long time it's worth it to upgrade to at least Gold efficiency as the power savings will make up the cost in the long run. C tier is fine but nothing spectacular so it would be good for budget builds. If your case has space this Shift could be worth it, but it's also $20 more: RM750x.

I built out a computer with this PSU almost 4 years ago for a customer. had a 5800x and a 6800xt, still going strong with no complaints from the customer. By today's standards might not be a great deal but still a solid option.

This PSU is OK. I have the 650w in a recent build, and I am far from pushing its limits. Fans are quiet enough. The RMx series is much better, but usually around $100. That PC is on NAS duty and the PSU rarely ever needs to turn the fan on.

Bought 2. Funny how often you hear about the cheap ones lasting a decade.

I bought a cheapo Thermaltake brand PSU in 2009 (free AR), died 2 years later. Replaced under warranty. Since then, I have bought several "backup" PSUs, good quality ones in case the cheap replacement fails. That cheap Thermaltake is still running today, even after years of mining dogecoin and gaming on 250W GPUs! I have yet to use the new PSUs I bought back in 2012-2015.

Wouldn't touch Gb PSU's w/ a 10ft wooden pole after their long-running batch of absolute firecracker PSUs; that, they proceeded to try and pawn-off onto customers after they realized they were all defective...

Corsair is not the absolute best, and this is a rather old unit.
However, if an old PC needs a PSU and/or you've got a very 'moderate' modern build-
this is quite the Slick Deal.
