Could someone please explain why this is a good deal? Does anyone have any experience with this mic? Is it a quality mic or just more chi-com stuff that sounds like chi-com stuff?

I have one and it's pretty decent if you cant get a Blue Yeti or similar. An amazing mic for ASMR videos. https://youtu.be/C0bM7iDg-0U?si=uslqv-XHeYEXLlUk

It's $17 and has over 7k nearly 5 star reviews. It's way better than your phone or laptop, and seems to punch above it's weight class.

Lots of people like it for video calls from their pc. You can also directly connect it to a cell phone with a cheap cable and record anywhere for less than the price of most meals. It doesn't sound horrible.

But it is Chinese tech. That's why it's so cheap. If you don't have a mic, this is a good cheap option. If you're a pro with a mic closet, this is a toy, but it's still only $17, and will still make your video calls on your laptop or phone sound way better.

Probably as good as any cheap chinese mic. USB and can plug into your phone. Might be a fun grab.

That video is so hard to watch. Then he tests it with wired headphones plugged into it and plays with some settings... I don't know what else, I had to close it.

Thanks, guys. I was just curious. I've seen a lot of chi-com junk out there in a nice pretty wrapper, but still junk when it comes to specs (not saying that's what these are, that's why I was asking). I don't do video calls or phone calls with a mic or stuff like that, just recording and live music. So I can see the valid attraction for the purposes of video and phone by some people without laying out a lot of bux. It's true that built in pc and phone mics can definitely sound extra bad so a decent alternative would be advantageous. I realized from the start that the ones in this thread wouldn't compare to my AKG's, AT's and Shures, but I was honestly curious what people here thought that the attraction was.

Thanks again and Happy 2026 to y'all.
