Not a bad deal (16 GB of RAM is nice, often the entry level laptops only have 8 GB, which sucks in 2026), but unless you plan on using this at home and never moving it, I'd recommend against this laptop, as it doesn't support USB-C charging/power delivery.

The beauty of USB-C charging is that you can reduce the amount of crap you have to carry with you. I have an Anker 140 watt charger I travel with, and I can use it to charge my laptop, phone, Airpods, kindle, flashlights, and much more. With this laptop, you'd have to carry around an extra brick, which to me is a dealbreaker.

A good deal though if you don't plan on using this outside the house!

Crazy! For reference, my 2020 Black Friday HP laptop for $379 can be charged via USB-C, plus it has 2 x removable RAM slots and NVME SSD M.2 slot...for $379! This is NOT a good deal....maybe $200 top!

You are citing prices from 5 years ago before multiple rounds of inflation and tariffs. In the year 2026 find me another laptop from a reputable retailer that isn't a refurb or sketchy open box deal at this price.

I didn't even know they made laptops without USB C anymore does it have artificially high power requirements or something? I don't even think it would be legal to sell this in Europe without a USBC port. Maybe there's some exemptions or outliers I'm not aware of. But yes that is a downside to be sure I assume you must charge with a barrel plug? That's a terrible solution. There might be some kind of adapter solution I don't know.

You could probably make just stick a USB-A to USBC adapter under the side of the thing.

If this was $200 it would be a no-brainer. I think people get hyperbolic sometimes. 16 GB of RAM and a reasonably modern chip on a new device for 200 bucks would be a crazy deal.

exjt: oh I'm sorry this was actually referenced at the person you were responding to who said this should be priced at $200. probably was obvious but just in case he thought I was suggesting you said $200

I would go crazy without a touch screen. I'm sure you would get used to it but I've had a touch screen on my primary laptop (to say nothing of phones and tablets obviously) since I think at least like 2014. Over a decade of muscle memory now. Every time I use find myself using a computer without one (for instance if I'm troubleshooting my mom's computer issues or whatever) I find myself touching the touch screen out of muscle memory.

It has usb-c but for data only. Meaning you can't plug in a docking station or hub and have it charge it through tha.
