These are absurdly slow growing, but pretty easy to keep alive. They are also sexed so you may eventually get an alien bulb of seeds or a cone of pollen on the top of yours.

From what I'm reading these really like a lot of light and can grow if moved outside. I'm a little bit worried about ordering this one, I live in Charlotte NC, we have normal sized east and west facing windows.

Think it's worth a shot to grow this outside and bring it in for winter?

Absolutely no info on the Amazon listing about how deadly this can be for pets, thank you for posting what could be the most vital piece of info on if you should buy this or not.

No idea, but mine are probably15 years old, get full sun in PHX outside in the ground and are thriving.

I probably get 3-4 layers of fronds out of the top per year if I had to guess.

I went ahead and ordered one. We have a nice patio space with 8 hours of full sun and he can spend most of the year out there.

Might ship one to my brother who lives in Avondale AZ, he'd surely have enough sun.

I've always had really good luck with the Costa Farms plants. I've got probably a dozen around the house, all thriving.
