I've not ever experienced that before with Newegg. I just bought this a few hours ago and redeemed no problem and I also bought a 12-month game pass essentials yesterday for my son and that worked without a hitch.

Both my codes worked fine. User error?

This is the same deal as the BF week one. Still the lowest GPU US market effective monthly price ($16) from a reputable retailer.

This is an excellent deal. Esp since it is $30/month if you go thru MS. 16/month has got to be one of the lowest GPU anywhere!

Does anyone know how long one can hang on to these before activating?

I don't see otherwise but do we need to have an expired membership for this to work?

They are codes directly from the source, Microsoft, so they are not resold or gray market items. So, as long MS doesn't change their terms & conditions these would be good whenever you decide to redeem.

Has there any gray market deals / other country deals since MS upped the price? I have like 1.5 years left on some previous deal and don't want to start paying $15ish (and definitely not $30!!!) a month then.

Sucks that the prices went up from Microsoft, but $192 a year ($16 a month) isn't that bad considering one AAA game is $70.

I just sold my Series X, and used $125 of it to buy buy a tiny mini-PC that emulates everything up to PS2 and XBOX pretty much without issue and a quality controller. I've now got thousands of complete games that don't require me to buy DLC, BS subscriptions like Game Pass, or replacement controllers as they make those like garbage now too.
Console gaming is such a garbage money-grab now.

I mean you get to keep it or can resell it.
