This is a six month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate code deal that works out to about $16 a month, with the purchase made up of two three month codes. The codes are reported to come directly from Microsoft and can extend an existing Ultimate membership, with redemption working for some accounts and even stacking both codes successfully. The main caveats are region mismatches and occasional redemption problems, including already redeemed or used codes. It is most compelling for players who will actually use the library, cloud gaming, and launch access enough to offset the subscription cost.

Common Questions (5)

  • It makes the most sense for moderate to heavy players who will use the library often. If you only finish about 1-2 games a year, buying games on sale may be cheaper than paying for the subscription.

  • Yes. The codes can extend an existing Game Pass Ultimate subscription, so your membership does not need to be expired. If you have autopay enabled, disabling it before redeeming can also trigger an extra free month when you turn it back on.

  • It is 2 separate 3-month codes, which together add up to 6 months. Both codes can be stacked onto the same account if they redeem correctly.

  • They can reportedly be redeemed whenever you choose, as long as Microsoft does not change the terms. That makes the deal usable even if you want to wait until your current subscription runs down.

  • They are intended for US accounts, and region mismatch can prevent redemption. If the code fails with a wrong-region message, Newegg support may need to fix it.

This is the same deal as the BF week one. Still the lowest GPU US market effective monthly price ($16) from a reputable retailer.

This is an excellent deal. Esp since it is $30/month if you go thru MS. 16/month has got to be one of the lowest GPU anywhere!

I don't see otherwise but do we need to have an expired membership for this to work?

They are codes directly from the source, Microsoft, so they are not resold or gray market items. So, as long MS doesn't change their terms & conditions these would be good whenever you decide to redeem.

Half of these codes are used already. I hate newegg.
I've not ever experienced that before with Newegg. I just bought this a few hours ago and redeemed no problem and I also bought a 12-month game pass essentials yesterday for my son and that worked without a hitch.

Has there any gray market deals / other country deals since MS upped the price? I have like 1.5 years left on some previous deal and don't want to start paying $15ish (and definitely not $30!!!) a month then.

Sucks that the prices went up from Microsoft, but $192 a year ($16 a month) isn't that bad considering one AAA game is $70.
