This is a six month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate code deal that works out to about $16 a month, with the purchase made up of two three month codes. The codes are reported to come directly from Microsoft and can extend an existing Ultimate membership, with redemption working for some accounts and even stacking both codes successfully. The main caveats are region mismatches and occasional redemption problems, including already redeemed or used codes. It is most compelling for players who will actually use the library, cloud gaming, and launch access enough to offset the subscription cost.
Common Questions (5)
It makes the most sense for moderate to heavy players who will use the library often. If you only finish about 1-2 games a year, buying games on sale may be cheaper than paying for the subscription.
Yes. The codes can extend an existing Game Pass Ultimate subscription, so your membership does not need to be expired. If you have autopay enabled, disabling it before redeeming can also trigger an extra free month when you turn it back on.
It is 2 separate 3-month codes, which together add up to 6 months. Both codes can be stacked onto the same account if they redeem correctly.
They can reportedly be redeemed whenever you choose, as long as Microsoft does not change the terms. That makes the deal usable even if you want to wait until your current subscription runs down.
They are intended for US accounts, and region mismatch can prevent redemption. If the code fails with a wrong-region message, Newegg support may need to fix it.

Even if you are finding it relatively cheap you are conditioning yourselves to consume games this way and it's been terrible for consumers. clearly the price isn't aren't going to be low much longer there's going to be a trickle down effect Microsoft has raised the price absurd amounts already.
I mean if I could go back in time I'd probably would have bought a steam deck instead of a series X but given that I still have one laying around, I would rather just look for bargain deals and build a library.
games like subnautica and The Witcher 3 and all the old assassin's Creed, All that stuff is on sale regularly for 10 bucks 15 bucks 20 bucks.
rather buy a game or two every month and pay for game pass.

I can justify spending that much on GPU because I pay for all my non-GPU games with Microsoft Rewards points. I haven't paid actual money for an individual game since 2019, and I currently have about $400 in points in my account after spending ~$160 in the last few months. Play GP games at launch, patient gamer the rest.
Think about how many games from their library you can realistically start and finish in 6 months. Add up the cost to purchase the base games instead. If you game 8 hours a day, this makes sense. If it takes you 2 months or more to get through a single AAA title, this probably doesn't make sense. Also remember that the library is limited - will you want to purchase a game during this period and play that instead? Do you want Microsoft to pick the games you play, and the games you don't play?
I had this for 2 years when it was much cheaper, and there was a great deal that made it muuuuuch cheaper than that. Maybe some of you remember it. But I found myself playing a handful of games a ton, and wasn't really interested in the majority of the library. Even at $100 for 2 years, it barely made sense for me. I could have bought the games as I played instead for a little more, and I'd still be able to play them today.
Just do the math and make sure this makes sense for you before pulling the trigger.
