I've heard these are one of the most dangerous tools in the workshop. Seems to be fine to me, maybe if you have long hair and like wearing hoodies?

Every tool is dangerous if you don't know what you doing and being careless!!

Table saws have to be the most dangerous.
My fear with these is the locked-ON switch. Imagine dropping this due to injury and it's a live wire bouncing on the floor, grinding anyone in its path.

Not a horrible deal with the case and warranty, but who's still buying toggle switch grinders? If you've ever had a grinding disc (partially) explode you know how difficult they can be to control when unbalanced and it's not exactly the safest thing trying to handle that and search for the power switch... A new 4.5" 9557PB from Makita is only $79 on Amazon (sometimes available cheaper elsewhere), is far more ergonomic, and a lot safer to use when you don't have to lock it in the ON position due to the position of to the switch.

the locked on switch can be also convenient when you wanna use this with wire wheel or other rust remover wheel and you don't want to hold onto the switch at the whole time
