I don't know about this particular jacket, but I've bought some of Free Country's cheap ski gear from Sam's Club and it's pretty good value. Not amazing quality but durable, pretty comfortable, and inexpensive (especially on sale).
This is a bit of a tangent, but my Free Country Sam's ski jacket cost 10x less than my nice ski jacket (which was itself 50% off MSRP!). But it's far from 10x (or 20x) worse—marginal improvements just get more and more expensive as you move up the quality ladder. When taking price into account, I find the cheap Free Country jacket the much more impressive product (even if it's less than half as nice as a genuinely high end competitor).
Anyway, this jacket is even cheaper than the similar-looking Free Country jacket at Sam's Club, so I bet it's a decent value even if they're literally the same jacket.

Do these run extra large? The model in the website is 6'2" and wearing a Medium jacket.

Would this be a good jacket for skiing? I've got a ski trip coming up in February in Colorado. It's just one day, so don't want to break the bank for one day.

It's a softshell jacket so you'd need a base layer and a mid layer under this jacket. That's what I would wear skiing in Colorado.

Free country used to have really great quality items, but in the past few years, the quality is absolutely terrible.

FYI, shipping is $9 to my address for just jacket alone and they charge sales tax AFTER shipping fee. Don't really need it so couldn't justify shipping at 45% of item cost.

I tried another 'similar' FC jacket at Sam's and it was true to size.
