Anyone know what this new granite surface on all these pans actually is made of some kind of paint? Obviously they're not melting granite and creating a coating.

It's nothing safer than a normal "nonstick" pan.
Not really a necessary pan anyway, I don't need both nonstick and the need to add grill marks. I'd buy a cast iron one if I actually needed it.

they don't scratch if you use silicone or plastic spatulas, forks, etc to turn or remove items from the grill. Betting you used metal utensils.
