$124.xx full synthetic - $25 + tax. Local auto service shop charge $64.99 + tax. Learned my lesson last year. Call and ask retail price before you go. It's not a good deal for me in my area.

It's insane how none of these chains put standard pricing information online in advance.
I had to figure out from google reviews how much things cost.
In contrast, atleast my dealership coupons tell me the cost beforehand.

Really? A company which made 1.7 Billion last year and manages to update their coupons regularly cannot manage to update an excel sheet of pricing per service per location?

It's willful on their part for sure.
It's more of a "will not" than a "cannot". How many auto service providers put their auto service price online? Very few. Because that is a reason for "not" doing that. Each market is different. Some corporate own and some franchised. I am pretty sure they can manage 1000s of locations but they just won't.

Been going to VOIC for years. I buy my own synthetic oil and filter for about $25 at WM or Costco (I shop ahead). VOICs in my my area of Ohio will charge $35 for labor with my supplies. They will usually honor a $10 coupon "off any oil change" so my net cost approx $50.

Please tell me your car takes more than 5qt because that price is crazy
When I went there over a year ago, it was around $100 for a RAV4 because the only 0W16 oil they had are in bottles and not the bulk stuff.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank apple75

If you get your tires rotated there check them afterwards. I had the lug nuts loosen on the freeway a month later and the wheel came loose while I was doing 70 on the freeway. I'm not sure why it took a month to happen but the only time it's ever happened to me in 35 years of driving was after having VIOC do a rotation.

People still use these oil change spots? Stopped using the chains like 15 years ago, just go to your local mechanic or dealership (with coupons).

I've found that I can get these coupons all the time by googling "Take 5 oil change coupon". The first promoted result is always a link for these coupons. However, I was just able to get a full synthetic oil change and tire rotation at the dealer with 7 qts for $70.

Last and only time I got a Valvoline quick change service my low pressure tire light came on after the service. Got home and checked w/my gauge and all tires were under recommended pressure, so much for full service.

Crazy synthetic oil prices have driven me to extend oil changes until I see a noticeable darker color on the dip stick.

It usually take less than 10 mins at Valvoline "drive through", you pay for the convenience
Pay double? Plus are you sure about the quality of 10 mins work? Looks like they just drive your car in, pretend to do the work and not actually doing the work.

I totally get you. However, I still change my oil every 6 months even if my mileage is low. Some of the chemicals added to the oil do not last for ever.

It highly depends on your car and location. Local Chevrolet sometimes offer $49.95 with coupon for full synthetic (up to 5 qt). If you have a luxury or European car, it's usually much higher at dealer.

$49.95 Synthetic Oil & Filter Change
Normally $89.95

The Valvoline does the work in front of you (except for the oil filter since you can't see it when you sit in the car). You are welcome to get out of the car to watch they work at my local Valvoline. I agreed that I would "NOT" pay $40 more just for the convenience. I am pretty sure it takes 10-15 minutes to do a oil change in local auto service shops or dealer. Tech typically checks other areas so it takes longer than you would like (I watched my oil change at a Tires Plus and also local auto service shops).

Its seriously not hard to change your oil and you can do a full synthetic for like $30 with a filter guys..
Even less if you buy your oil when its on this site. $19 full syn Valvoline oil + $7 OEM Toyota filter and a 1/2 quart leftover.
