Are 1/2" sockets more expensive? Wondering why this vs the Dewalt 192-pc set that'll probably come around for the same price again

That Dewalt is not a impact socket set

Quality impact sockets are heavier and more robust than chrome sockets, as they are designed to withstand the hammering of an impact wrench. They often have thicker side walls and usually have six points in the socket to grab the nut. Chrome sockets feature thinner walls than impact sockets, and often feature 12 points within the socket. Thinner walls allow the socket to get into tighter spaces, while the 12 point feature makes it easier to get the socket over the nut. Also, the larger the drive size, the more expensive they get. 1/2 drive is large enough to handle any car and most pick up trucks. Anything larger and your a heavy diesel mechanic.
