This M18 2 gallon cordless wet dry vacuum is praised as a strong, handy shop vac and the hack price makes it especially attractive. It works well with larger 8Ah and 12Ah Forge batteries, and the included vacuum gets called an awesome everyday tool. The main tradeoff is battery hunger, since smaller packs can feel weak and runtime drops fast. The attachments are also an odd size, so it is a solid pick if you already have the right batteries.

  • The vacuum can work well with 8Ah and 12Ah Forge batteries for wet dry cleanup tasks.

  • The vacuum can be swapped by Home Depot when the switch fails on an early unit.

  • The Home Depot hack reportedly can deliver both items, letting you return the unwanted one instead of skipping pickup.

  • The Home Depot hack reportedly can be completed successfully when the unwanted item is returned after delivery.

  • The vacuum can eat batteries quickly during use, which may increase operating cost.

  • The vacuum can feel weak with a 6Ah High Output battery compared with larger Forge packs.

  • The vacuum attachments can be an off size, which may limit compatibility with expected accessories.

  • Home Depot account bans reportedly can happen after Milwaukee tool hacks, and receipts may be lost.

If the hack works, it's a great deal. I've done these hacks a few times at Home Depot as a number of you have. Sometimes ymmv, but it typically works. it's an awesome vac.

Just want to add my experience with Home Depot hacks. I have done many of them and ALL of them have worked. I typically have both items delivered and then return the item I don't want as opposed to the not picking up the item I don't want.

It is a great vac. I have it as well. The switch died on my first one and depot swapped it. It eats batteries quick, though.

I am in the DeWalt battery family. But from my understanding the DeWalt wet vac is pretty bad and the Milwaukee great. I plan on getting the Milwaukee to DeWalt converter which I read works as long as you use smaller DeWalt batteries (no room otherwise). However having Milwaukee battery may not be bad idea

Is this a good deal if the battery is kept too. Or is the combo at better prices at other times?

--Nevermind, I realized this isn't even the good packout version

Yeah, I've never had a problem returning 1/2 of the "hack" deal to HD. I was questioned once why I was returning some batteries and I told them I didn't need them. I got the impression they were just checking to make sure they weren't defective.

Yep, same here. When I return the unwanted item to Home Depot they pretty much always ask why I'm returning and I pretty much always say I don't need it. It's never an issue. I think they just need a reason to input into their system.

Can confirm the same. They're using "AI" to ban accounts that have taken advantage of hd, according to discussions on Reddit.

I created a new account, different email address, I was able to place one order, after that, that account got banned. (Same street address?)

Now I shop at lowes, Menards, ace. I won't even do walk ins b&m purchases at he since they've banned me.

I assumed they will return the money for the battery if I don't pick it up but how long does that take ?
