It is purely compute(and power).

The 9070 has 56 CUs and the 9070 XT has 64 CUs. The 9070 XT is also clocked higher. So the performance difference and power draw between the 2 cards is the only thing. They use the same architecture, have the same memory and support all the same things.

This onr competes with (and beats) the RTX 5070. The XT competes with the RTX 5070 ti, probably losing by a low % fps in gaming, in average. All are good cards for the money in the current market.

I'm pretty sure that I've seen the 9070XT at this price (or dang near it) multiple times recently. The 9070 non-XT is a really hard sell unless you can get it for vastly less than the XT version. In most cases $30-$50 more will give you a significant boost.

Not exactly, the difference between 9070 and 9070XT at the same TDP is very minimal, I brought both 9070 and 9070XT and with their MSRP and end up returning the 9070XT, due to the fact that my 9070 is FASTER than my 9070XT at same TDP (after flashing the XT BIOS) as my 9070 can stable at larger undervolt than my 9070XT.

In for one. Beats the Microcenter Asrock 9070 (non-XT) price and has a premium build.

How much truth to this?

Local Micro Center guy told me with AMD and NVIDIA focusing more on AI work and memory shortage that next year GPU's will be at least 40% less produced and he said if I'm thinking about upgrading in the next 12-16 months to get something now before prices on even current stock of these and 5070's go up

Is it dead already? Shows $891 for me, which is ridiculous.
