FYI, it looks like you cannot buy multiple sets to connect these to make them longer

Are you sure? They have an extension connector at the end and the documentation says the limit is 4 strands. Or maybe 6. Both Rufus and customer comments are contradictory on this, lol.

i had a longer and a shorter set. i tried to connect one of the extra strands from the longer kit to the shorter kit and the shorter kit wouldn't power on. (i don't think the controller of the shorter set allows it)
