The first computer my parents purchased, a 486DX 33, this game was purchased alongside it. I spent many hours lost in its puzzles along with Indiana Jones Atlantis. The 90s were the best with all the LucasArts and Sierra click adventure games.

So true! LucasArts and Sierra games were so much fun.

I think I'll have to grab this one.

Dang, a 486. Bet you had VGA and Adlib. You didn't have the pleasure of playing Sierra games on an IBM XT w/CGA graphics and PC speaker audio.

Soundblaster Pro for the win!

Provided you could get those IRQ and DMA jumpers set correctly. 🙂

I was a SB user too. Always salivated hearing the Roland MT32 though.

Can't figure out why my original post was heavily downvoted. Is reminiscing about vintage gaming acceptable only if it's about playing on a 486?

Honestly not sure, but Adlib is just a footnote in history and maybe no one remembers it?

I remember the feeling of victory I felt when I finally tracked down a used Roland SCC-1 at an affordable price.

For those of you who are so inclined, ScummVM allows you to take all of the old Sierra and LucasArts games and accurately emulate the experience using full midi soundfonts. IIRC, MI2:SE was all redbook audio off the CD, so it's a moot point for this title - but if you have other games that do offer midi audio support, loading a free GM/GS Soundfont (like FatBoy) into ScummVM will let you know exactly what you were missing out on back in the day.
