Do the Bissell stick vacs compare well to the Dyson stick vacs? I know you can Google this, but the state of review sites with AI slop out there is really bad and it's hard to trust anything from a company anymore now that reviews have largely been replaced by disguised referral link ads everywhere.

I can't answer your questions, but your instincts on what not to trust are solid.

I would rather have a Bissell or a Shark any day of the week over a Dyson. Dysons tend to have issues with their batteries after a year.

Our Dyson v15 just died after a year. No battery issues. Apparently they randomly have motherboard issues. We just got a bissell furguard and it's been fine. 3 kids. Crumbs all over. Both have lights to illuminate crumbs. For me the 500 dollar difference is not worth it. Of course, stick vacs are for lighter clean ups vs heavier duty plug ins.

We've had a Dyson for about 6 years now, extremely happy with it and still on the original battery. We're considering getting a second, but this price is extremely attractive compared to what we paid. If they're comparable in performance, then this is an easy buy. However, my experience with our Dyson has been wildly different than what everybody what here is reporting. It's served as our primary vacuum for years. Originally in a 5k sqft house (only one room per charge of course) and now in our smaller but more spread out 4k sqft house (hence why we want a second).
I have lvp flooring and pets. In case it helps someone else, Perplexity searched reviews and gave me this summary -
Pros:
Tangle-free brush roll prevents hair/debris wrap, ideal for cats and dogs.
Excellent suction and maneuverability on hard floors/LVP, with LED headlights for spotting fur.
Lightweight (7 lbs), versatile (converts to handheld/high-reach), easy to empty/maintain, and pet tools for upholstery/stairs.
Variable modes (low for floors, turbo boost) and quiet on low (67 dB).
Cons
Battery life: Up to 50 min low but <20 min high/turbo, limiting larger areas.
Weaker on thick carpets compared to hard floors/rugs.
Not self-standing (needs wall lean/mount), occasional clogging/overheating in heavy use.
I bit, we have our plug in for the main floors, but needed something for the basement area. Hopefully this does include the accessories, I didn't find anything in the seller description about them.
