I have this exact model for 4 months now, I also have several Govee leak detectors, the YoLink allows you to automatically shut off the water main if any of their leak detectors is triggered which is a big plus if a leak happens when you are not home, setting up the auto shut off required me to get help from YoLink customer service and they gave me the following instructions in case somebody needs it: Thank you for choosing Yolink for your smart home needs.

To set your sensors to trigger the valve to close, there are two ways on how you can set it up. Please choose one— either through alarm strategy (ideal if you have 2 or more leak sensors) or automation (ideal if you have 1 sensor).

>> To set it via an alarm strategy, carefully follow these steps:
a. From your main page, tap "smart" and create a scene. For its behavior, set the valve to close.
b. Go to your alarm strategies page and edit the alarm strategy of your sensors> tap "related devices" and make sure all your leak sensors (only) are included> go back once> tap "trigger action" and choose the scene you created> confirm> save

or

If you would like to set it via automation, carefully follow these steps:
>> From the app's main page, tap "smart"> automation> + sign> name your automation> when +> device actions> choose a leak sensor> water detected> behavior+> device actions> choose your valve> close > tap the 3 consecutive check marks to save your automation
**If you have multiple sensors and you would still want to set it via automation, you will have to create an automation for each sensor following the same steps.

You can also pair the sensors to the valve via D2D and this connection works even if the system is offline. To pair your sensor to your valve through the D2D control, please make sure the valve is in the closed position first then press and hold the sensor's SET button for 5 seconds until it starts flashing green then release the button. Press next the valve's SET button for 5 seconds as well until it also starts flashing green and release the button. The pairing is complete once the lights on both the sensor and the valve stop flashing.
**If you have multiple sensors, you will need to pair each sensor to the valve following the same procedure.

Might any of you fine SD people be able to comment on the Yolink products versus Govee, specifically for leak protection?

I have this set up for many months now and really like it.
Have a friend who's a custom house builder and his plumber has this in his own house.

Things I like about it:

- If you have a 1/4 turn whole house water shutoff valve you can install this yourself without needing a plumber.

- Actually shuts the water off and doesn't just give you an alarm. The "just alarm" types don't truly help if you're not home, etc. Imagine a washing machine hose going when you're not home. It's like opening a garden hose full force inside your home. If you're at work and get an alarm or notification, a TON of damage can occur in a short amount of time.

- Can be set up to work WITHOUT power or internet. These have batteries and will still work and shut off the water even if there's no power. If a storm comes through and you lose electricity…you're still covered. There's YouTube videos on setting these up.

- Can be set up with a LOUD alarm ( another maybe $30) that will go off if any of the sensors are triggered. So, if it happens in the middle of the night you'd still know that it happened. If you have an oil burner and baseboard heating it can be dangerous to have the house water shut off. if the system has a small unknown leak, when the water is shut off, enough water can leave the heating system and cause a boiler explosion. I personally want to know when the water gets shut off even if I'm sleeping.

This is tempting but I'm concerned about the battery life actually being 2 years and do not relish the thought of getting into my underground valve box very often. It would seem to me that between 4xAA batteries, long range communication for main valve being in the ground out in the yard and the torque required to open and close the valve it would be highly YMMV...

Spend the extra to get the system to shut the water off for you... I have a different system thru my SmartThings hub and it's great peace of mind to have it.

Much better than Govee. I started with Govee but prefer the Yolink integration with Home Assistant

I integrate my yo-link sensors with home assistant. Have found the battery more reliable then the zwave sensors that i had. Also, I'd suggest grabbing the sensors with sound alarm when it detects water so the family can triage immediatly.

I went with YoLink with it's LoRa tech. Off-grid hubs can also send packets to the yolink server. yolink hub that picks up a yolink device packet will forward it, this allows you to get alerts when your hub is offline and there is another hub online nearby.

I have a Flo, and love it for micro leak detection. It'll learn your pattern and alert if anything is off.

I also have Home Assistant turn off the water if no one is home and the water is running. The only issue with this is a small drip/leak won't be detected. I have sensors in various places to attempt detection.

I like this kit because it's all in one ecosystem

Unless installing this yourself a plumber may charge $500+. Also this is a more permanent installation vs other leak detectors due to the pipe connections (other detectors have threaded connections). Also you will want someplace to attach the motor portion since it does have a bit of weight to it and you do not want the strain on the pipes.

Your home owners insurance might offer a discount on your policy if you get something like this. Mine doesn't, and no idea what kind discount you might get.

Yolinks range and reliability is excellent. It's also very fast if pair with a speaker hub or something else to notify you like door sensors, even outdoor ones. My biggest complain is they always bundle hub with their sales, if i need more sensors they are more expensive then getting set with hub.. I already have 2 hubs.
