It's 1/10 of the price.

IDK the quality of this rower but it's probably not good. You can get a good used Concept2 rower for under $500 and they're bulletproof and very low maintenance. I've had the same one for over 10 million meters and it'll long outlive me.

That said, some people buy rowers and soon stop using them because, among other things, the workout is hard, you can't do anything with your hands, and they use poor technique. I suspect the experience is worse on a cheap machine like this one. If possible, try rowing at the gym and see if it's for you. If you can get used to it, it's one of the best fitness tools out there. C2 also has great support, a worldwide community, and competitions you can do in-person or online. They also give free perks for milestones, such as a t-shirt for logging a million meters.

Where do you suggest to get a good used Concept2?

The 1 star is almost as much as the 5 star reviews, the price was enticing but not worth the gamble if needed to return.

I've usually found them in local ads (eg, craigslist, nextdoor, Facebook marketplace). Also worth checking eBay but sellers usually require local pickup.

You cannot get a concept 2 for less than $800 and a 4 hour drive. I've been chasing this mythic $500 BS price for over a decade. Everyone wants a concept 2 of they want a rower.

I've been through two of these. the point of failure on these is going to be the string/rope. the nicer ones have chains instead of the rope. it broke on my first one after a year or so of regular use.

this is a really good price for a new one with shipping. i've since upgraded to a concept 2 and its much better (no comparison really)... but for $100, if you have the space and you've been thinking you could use a rower, I would get this. if you use it so much it breaks, you're only out $100 and then you would know if you need a concept 2 or not. if you don't use it you can sell on marketplace and get all your money back.
