This has been the coupon price for a long time. They actually just raised the list price from $500 to $530. Prior to the list price increase you could get a single one of these for $450 by signing up for that mailing list to receive a 10% coupon. That's repeatable by just using [emailaddress]+[anything]@gmail.com.
I'm optimistic that we'll see these at $400 again for world backup day end of march.

I just shucked the 28TB external USB they had on sale for 300. But they go quick.

I will NEVER buy another Seagate or Western Digital device that requires access to their software or environment to work. they will shut it down after 5 or so years and your left with a paper weight
