These are the floating ones and they haven't been below $18 in at least 10 years.

There are other models (such as the Companion and Craftline) that would routinely be $10-12, but not these.

It doubles as a float/bobber in survival situations for fishing. Kidding...Morakniv makes some decent products, I like the idea that it floats in marine environments where you might be cutting ropes or other materials. I wonder how well it does in a salt water environment (although that's not where I live). It doesn't have a pointed tip, while I can make up reasons as to why that is the case I can't think of any solid ones. I know diving knives typically have a blunt end to avoid punching SCUBA airlines and diving suits and things.

Blunt tip is better for inflatable boats and rafts. Also works as a prying tool or screwdriver in a pinch.

Great knife. Not as hard as the higher carbon versions they make so needs to be sharpened more frequently but they are easier to maintain and don't have to worry about rust buildup.
