Totally. Especially with tools, though, brand name typically means something. And I know many try to stick within a manufacturer when they get into tools, so I surmise many would rather have DEWALT brand-everything.

These are not manufactured by DeWalt, they just have their name licensed.

They're manufactured by a company called "E-filliate Inc."

Never had any experience with them, but I'm pretty sure DeWalt will tell you to talk to them for warranty issues and who knows "E-filliate Inc." will be around to honor that warranty or what their process is.

Imagine if the EU required powertools and batteries to have USB-C connectors so folks wdre free to mix and match. Maybe this is a start.

I can't find the terms and conditions of this 'limited lifetime warranty' anywhere, however on an unrelated note, dewalt's 'limited lifetime warranty' on handtools is.....wow......making me think that there's a reason why the terms and conditions for the 3rd party mobile accessories warranty aren't available anywhere online.
