This price makes me pretty happy I bought 2 of these 26TB hard drives a few months ago for 249 dollars a piece. This is 329 dollars today on newegg.

I guess the hard drive market is going up and up. Or wait for super sales. Also, I use this drive just for cold storage.

Buy it or wait or get something else, happy hunting, it's early Jan 2026, ... I would wait, but whatever you do is your decision.

Wait a minute, are you saying cold storage is a good thing for a disk drive? I was under the impression that it is not. No write = shorten life span. Like unused battery after a period of time

... it is computer term used for hard drive ... not a battery. Do a google search on hard drive cold storage, or long term storage.

Best HDD for Cold Storage

Even BEST BUY has a page that came up for me in google search and listed this hard drive as option. As compared to SSD's or cd's or dvd's, etc. You are FREE to have your viewpoint on the topic of cold storage of mech hard drives. Which are good ones for cold storage and not good for long term storage and how they use the term.

Yeah, I saw that. I have no idea why people would pay this much when it's $40 cheaper directly from Seagate.
